The paintings that Serge Game has produced in the last four years initially seem to raise questions. The colourful amorphous structures and substances on the canvas cannot be interpreted unambiguously. Do they represent objects or forms from the visible realtity or are we seeing painterly exercises in which the artist explores the formal possibilities of the medium? The titles of the paintings offer no definite answer. Names such as Tweekland, Ronin Volvo, Dialoog, Looker or Diafragma appear to refer to matters outside the image, rather than to the depiction itself.
